Digipak Draft 1 // Nathan Beard

  1. I really like your album cover as it is unique and slightly unusual. The colours work well together however the red circle looks larger and therefore looks slightly out of place. The text colour you have chosen is effective and i really like the inside of your digipak with the initials and disks. You could consider minimising the amount of different font styles you use together for example, on the back of your album and the welcome page as this looks quite overwhelming and crowded. However, the mix of fonts works well on your advert as there is a greater space between them and it is well split. I like how your magazine advert reflects your album. Your pull out looks professional and follows the theme however you could consider making the main text slightly smaller. Overall, it looks extremely professional and authentic with a few alterations.

  2. The general aesthetic of the designs that you have used on your digipak and advert have a very professional feel to them beyond most other examples that I have seen. The positioning and consistency are unfaultable. possibly, however, just having less text on your digipak may create a more professional and slightly minimalist look.

  3. The use of three different coloured circles to represent the three artists is an idea I have never seen before, what you have done on the inside cover looks well and goes with the front cover. The text on the back left panel could be bigger as it is a little difficult to read, however is good work.

  4. I like the colour scheme throughout this digipak and think it makes the text stand out. the contrast of colours is good and the layout of text is well thought out and makes the digipak look authentic. I like the use of different fonts as signatures on the left cover.

  5. I like how there is good consistency throughout all of the panels. The colours work well together and also stand out when they have been placed on their own. I like how you have placed the initials of the band members in the circles as when these circles are placed together on the front cover, it creates unity between the three. I think the font works well and the album as a whole is authentic.

  6. The only obvious improvement I can see is rearranging the text and logos on your left cover as it looks busy. However, I really like your digipak and the fact you have used the band members initials on the pages as you go through, this is fluent through the digipak. I like how you have repeated the colours in your band logo which is simple but looks professional. I like the font you have used as it looks stylish and is clear to read but doesn't take the attention away from the rest of the elements. I feel you have created an authentic product and you have used unique ideas and put thought into your layout.
